Untitled

It is morning,
I smile.
This is every morning,
because of optimistic.
Soon the smile from before,
dies and then I cry.
Because just  like every other morning,
since January 5, 2010.
I do not have a Google Nexus One.

sharepod

The iPod is too restricting but with some help from sharepod the inner not evil MP3 player inside the iPod will come back. sharepod will copy the music off the iPod and put it directly on the computer; it is priceless to have this feature is your computer crashes and your music collection is lost. Give sharepod a try if you want some of the freedom that Apple does not supply.

Songbird

Songbird was the first pleasant alternative to the popular iTunes; however, its popularity has quickly made it a feature rich music organizer more useful then its expensive friend iTunes. A built in web browser and extension support are the first two things that set it apart, but the defining characteristic is being based off the open source Mozilla Firefox project which means it cost nothing to use. If you are ready for something new and better to organize your music try Songbird.

ROCKbox

Old iPod users rejoice, there is a product called ROCKbox and it rocks! I know Steve told you the iPod always rocks, but he lied. Truth be told there are no games like helicopter and Doom for the, more classic, iPods. There are other problems too; not being aloud to drag and drop music files drive me almost as insane as trying to explain to my mom how to use iTunes. ROCKbox is not perfect, and while the developers are working on updates for new generation iPods, ie last two years, there currently is no version available. To try it out on you old school music brick just download and plug in you iPod, it will do the rest. It does not remove the stock OS only makes skip over it on start up; in addition, reverting back to the original state is as simple as settings uninstall. ROCKbox will give you all the intuitive features most MP3 players do not come with, and it is simple enough your mom can use it. It is faster, prettier, easier, and more powerful than the stock operating system on the iPod. It is fun enjoying old technology with ROCKbox go to the link and enjoy it for yourself.

jinni

This jinni is not in a bottle but instead online. What you wish for unlimited wishes? Well this jinni is only in beta and while it cannot make you rich or famous it can lead you in the right direction to watch. What show or movie to watch that is. One may search by title or filter through options like: plot, setting, mood. An example is searching for Cowboy Bebop: the jinni will find the movie and show and you can click on either for a synopsis and pictures or click more like it to explore something else you may like. After using it for months and searching hundreds of titles there has only been one show I cannot find on there. The "more like it" feature has introduced me to many new favorites. If you have some time go to the jinni and find some classic hits that you either forgot or never knew existed, there is a multitude of entertaining pieces of work. Enjoy!

Bundle

Bundle compiles data in cities and will tell you how much people of whatever ever demographic you choose spend on a variety of items. It is particularly useful for travailing and moving where knowing how much people spend will tell you how much things cost. Although it is only in BETA it is already tons of fun to play with. As always it is free (almost everything I recommend is) and pretty to use; a easy on the eye GUI goes a long way.

Revo

Revo Uninstaller will take the whatever programs or software you want off your computer off, completely. When Windows removes just whatever it feels like and leaves junk that eventually slows down the OS, Revo is going into the registry and finding anything that might be related to what you want to uninstall and asking you if it is ok to also remove it. I do not prefer Windows and highly recommend Linux, but if you choose to use Windows check out Avast! as mentioned before and use Revo to make sure your computer is free of whatever junk you installed and no longer want.

Thruster

Thruster is a skateboard. It is a long-board type made to mimic surfing. It is my favorite because of spring loaded trucks that not only are unique but also the best. By best I mean produce the sharpest turns and most fluid like speed carves. They out perform Sector 9 and Original skateboards on the flats. Go to Thruster's website and order one if you live close to a flat parking lot and want to feel like you are surfing in the ocean. Just watch out for the police skateboarding is against the law in all states except Utah.

Avast!

The difference between antivirus software is becoming vague, but there are traits that distinguish them apart. A antivirus should remove viruses and maintain up to date settings, keeping the computer safe. Most do this such as: Norton, AVG. Norton has a problem, it cost money. I will not waste my money when there are better products that are free. AVG was my free pick, until it became nearly impossible to, not pay. Avast! has changed their logo and although it means little, a download will confirm they do not try to trick people into paying as much as AVG does. Avast!'s interface is smoother looking and it is simple to change settings. Windows users celebrate, after embracing Avast! and keeping the computer safe and clean.

Tiny Time

Online tools are in a surplus, and for good reason. Web-based programs means no downloads and out of the box action, or out of the webpage. With video chatting there are several options, today my favorite is tinychat. It's name does not give it justice. Although it is simple with a straight forward website it take on a complex task of free video chat rooms online. It is clean and unlike Skype, another useful tool, it requires no download. By clean I mean the interface is easy on the eyes with its contrasting shades of blue and that it's structure flows sensibly. Go to tinychat.com. Create a new room. Make it public and meet strangers or set it to private. Type, talk, look cute, and enjoy the not so small tinychat.

hulu

hulu is about to get costly, and if you don't know about hulu, this is the time to start enjoying it. It offers many free television shows online for free, with a few short advertisements in between. Unfortunately they are about to start charging money for a subscription, at least for some services. So use hulu now before it is too late!

Wix

The blogoshere is pretty much the best thing since peanut butter; thank you Marcellus Gilmore Edson. However sometimes there are other needs for websites that don't involve posting opinions nobody cares about. Needs like having a website. On my website I post links to my blogs where I post my opinions nobody care about. Websites are like stationary blogs, unlikely to change. I digress, go to WIX.com now if you want a sexy flash website in under five minutes that looks professionally expensive, and is designed by you*. It is a web-based site builder and I enjoy using there multitude of backgrounds and boxes to make my site truly individual.

*it is not so much designed by you as it is put together by you, still cool!

Typo

Online free touch typing tutorials. I am still a primitive look at the button an press it typer minus th occasion lucky press of freedom. I also suffer back and neck pain from looking straight down at my keys too much. I am trying to us this software to better myself you should try them to go to at sense-lang.org

.tk

I have a few websites. I did not make them from scratch though, I can, but it is much easier to use sites such as Wix or Google Sites to build them for me. Sadly nobody is going to remember or want to type in scstubbs.google.sites, it is too long.  Instead of finding a cheap sites host it is easier and completely free to use dot.tk to rename. So I take my long but free urls and use a free dot.tk to change my website names to stubbs.tk. See how clean and easy that is.

I would recommend setting up an account as then you may keep track of websites and even add email forwarding. It is also free, as you know by now I do not cover anything that cost money when there is a way of doing it for free.

Hello Gizmodo

Gizmodo is a fuller Lifehacker with an abundance of post daily; I find it hard to keep up with. Some of the best gadget reviews and probably the best at blogging innovative toys. If the world of computers and or anything that is tech savvy is you, I cannot recommend Gizmodo because I am sure you already read them. Check out GIZMODO tonight.

Lifehacker

Around a year I found Lifehacker and have read everything posted since then, mostly. Lifehacker is a blog that is similar to Gizmodo but where Gizmodo blogs gadgets and new tech devices Lifehacker blogs software and operating systems among daily tricks and hack such as using a banana peel as shoe polish. I have learned a lot from Lifehacker and it is a insiration for my blog. Check out lifehacker.com and see what life hacking you can get done today.

My Fax Hero

In decades into the information age it baffles me there is still such a primitive device as the fax machine, and that so many business require the use of them. I had to fax something for my college today, I had no fax machine, but I did have a computer with web access and Google. faxZERO is what I found. It is free for up to three faxes a day per person which is more than I hope to ever need. There is also a version one may pay for and a way of hacking  around the fix. if u or anyone u know needs to fax anything i strongly recommend this. and if what you are faxing need to be filled out fill it out with Open Office, you can even add a digital signature if that is also required. Enjoy free faxing with faxZero!

iPad

Lots of funny jokes and another important piece of technology from Apple. The good is it is not going to rape you on the price if you buy the cheapest one and the specs are not bad. What sucks is it is just a huge iPhone. I am sure there will be many Apps for it and that it will out play games and such on present android sets. But the freedom behind an open source OS and the ability to run a few programs/apps more than once at a time.
I like the other tablet more because they are real computer and not large iPhones (Apple restricted and controlled devices).

Craigslist 2.0

Why do I hate Craigslist 1.0, well officer, because I live in one county and work in the other so Craigslist 1.0 is a bitch about which one I can be part of a community with. That is why I am upgrading to Craigslist 2.0.
Ok there is no Craigslist 2.0 but I have found a few tricks to help you get ripped off and have people steal your info easier (Today I got one of those Nigerian Scams, guys was using Gmail too, giving Google a bad name, so sad, I even tried to instant message him but all he could say was what is you PayPal ID so I cans steal all your money, ok he did not say steal your money but it is common since when I Googled his address and the first 1,000 results were had either the words WARNING or SPAM), fucking Nigerians.
Well I digressed, I have also made some cash off things I don't need or use, trading items to people who want something I am about to throw aways for something I need (want).
There are a number of different ways to utilize craigslist. My favorite currently is crgslst.com because they are free and web based. Crgslst.com is not just a favorite but a much more innovative way of sorting through multiple community's Craigslist web-pages. It has a smooth graphic user interface and although it does not sort as well as some desktop programs I find it to be a pleasent and often better alternitive.
My least favorite is rain-clouds.com because it has a beautiful naked lady that plays classical music (smart and sexy) show up and sing a melody about making money. Did you click on it? Well if I got you to click the link you now know it is an annoying advertisement bitch, informing you that you need to give them money to search Craigslist. I hate capitalism.
There are add notifiers, Google them if you care because I don't. If you have a Brickshit, I mean blackberry, there is an app for that, for once. And I know there is one but am sure there are at least a few more than one idontgivedam apps, I mean iPhone apps. Why does Steve Jobs get to capitalize the second letters of his words; I want his English teacher.
If you would like a program for your computer I have used Craigs Pal. There site says it saves you time and it really does. If you don't mind a little space being taken up on your computer than use this! But beware it is hard to go back to anything else even the cool web-based Crgslst.
I love Craigslist and as long as you use common since there is a ZERO percent chance of you getting hurt or stuck with something you don't want, or want. I apologize for not covering all the other aspects of Craigslist but I honestly am not going to talk about how you can use it to find date or job or anything else because buying, selling, and trading ares it's strong points. Enjoy yourselves and be the big little entrepreneur I know you are by using Craigslist to its full potential with these free products discussed above.

Peaceful Death

The iconic website is a community and proof that people can successfully reach out and get or get rid of something. Trash, nice stuff, good prices, people riping you off, craigslist is just like the real world but you don't have to leave your computer. I like it better than Ebay in how relaxed it is. I also enjoy selling stuff at reasonable prices and making more money than I could on trading stuff in, and also buying for astonishing prices. One can also find jobs, dates, and community events. This old school website is still a unique tool that is used weekly by me, and hopefully anyone that wants a good deal.
Tomorrow I'll cover some of the easier ways of sorting through post on your communities Craigslist.

So there I was. End of the decade. Perhaps one of the most fundamental in technology. When computers went from 32bits to 64 bits I was there, and it was in the 2000 to 2009 decade place. Yes the 90's . . . or 1900's had internet but the revolution was only begining and I did not get high speed, along with most of you, until the ripe years of the twenty zero somethings. Google kicked ass and that is why I have been continueing a Googly segment for the remander of the week. The companies Apple was also lucrative. Apples iPhone made finger licking good internet in our hands and set a bar. This bar will never be surpassed. However, the day will come when nobody cares about that bar and that day is soon. Today, or rather tonight (I need to post earlier), I will discus Googly phones.

I mean Google Android and Google Phones (of course) and the impact they have in changing how we use technolagy. Forget the competitors, iPhones have been fucking awesome and there is no, nor will there ever be a iPhone killer E V E R   ;            However, as inovative as the iPhone was in steering dumb phone users into smart phone users, Google Android will be inovative in pushing smart phones off the market and hand held computers into it.

The iPhone's web browser does not support flash and only allows developers to manipulate into applications. this is great for a smart PHONE in which everything is centered around the PHONE and crappy internet and the user of a REAL computer software is not needed. I want to do the same shit I do on a computer on a little screen on my hand. Anyone whom uses a smart phone hopefully uses a computer, so the tradition from one to another should be more seamless. Android, when first created, was hacked into net-books -it is already conceived as a computer OS rather than a mobile piece of shit brick like my Blackberry Storm*.

Blackberries are not worth discussing now, the Nexus One is. Although not as sexy as the iPhone or as big as I would like it, it has a speedy processor and exemplifies Google's development and Androids potential. It will be available to Verizon soon but currently is only on T. Mobile. It has flash browsing so one can visit any website and watch any video, go to hulu and watch Cougar Town or what ever gets your goat or your goat gets. I am excited to waste money on the Nexus phone because it has the Android OS which is Open to developers and unlike Apple or Blackberry which are Nazi's about which browsers I use on MY COMPUTER to download updates and which application are appropriate for ME to buy and pay for with MY money (or somebody's I am borrowing). Blackberry I kinda understand Apple and their preppy we don't want to many porn Apps thing but that is about maintaining an image for their phone AND computer users, you don't make a phone so stop pissing me off and be like Android! The Nexus One is only the beginning of buying phones and computers from Google and the reason everyone should be excited about that is because Google is even more innovative than Apple and you don't have to pay extra for there products just because they don't want poor people in the club (like apple).

-Next week the Apple tablet will be discussed and tomorrow the story will leave the dark angry rants of evil Blackberry's and move towards Google phones and start the Google Chrome OS topic.

*Blackberry's are trendy out of date bricks that piss me off and I have one which brings me to why I wrote this, and yet . . . if I dye before I wake the only thing I will regret is that there is a Blackberry Storm in my house, and also. . . . .Ii have seen things come out of my dogs butt prettier than it.

Scooter or Bike

Anyone study and research something and get nowhere. It all starts as a little Google here and a little Google here and then a whole lot of OMFG somebody shoot me the internet is soooooo confusing.
Anyone know why the world wide web is so confusing? It is because it is made up of 98% idiots, 1% cons, and 1% other. Want a professional opinion, it is online somewhere, just search through 99 websites before you find it.
No solution or hack today I want reader input and help. I want to start being more Eco-friendly and am going to be using a scooter or motorcycle for work commutes and weekend trips. But which one? Do I join the Mods or the Rockers? Naturally the experience will be chronicalized here.
First let's cover the specs: Preferably a scooter until I change my mind. 150cc. Under two grand. Online buying from China would be nice because of the appeal to a better deal; however, the product must be reliable.
Online, there is no website that is true to their offers. Many claim to be the manufacture however use the same pictures and scooter/bike descriptions. I have read on forums that they ship and break out of the box, multiple people saying the same thing about the same scooter and it is the scooter that is on all the sites.
I want to be Eco-friendly, but cars are too expensive and I am not supper interested in a motorcycle but I am sure as hell not going to pay a motorcycle price for a scooter.

P.S. The Brammo Enertia is the bike in the photo today. It is a fully electric motorcycle.

Cell Phones Away!

Are you good at math? Do you enjoy math? Or, do you loath it? If you can answer any of those questions yes, then read on. Todays post is about my love affair with Wolfram|Alpha. With out it I would not be passing college algebra. It is a website that is comparably the Google of math. Like charts? Love the Wolfram|Alpha. Like letting a website that one could use on there phone with mobile access solve quadratic equations with variables. It shows the steps too math teachers. This is math geek porn at its best. Those of you that don't, enjoy math, do you remember asking why the hell you have to know how to do something you will purposely spend you whole life avoiding? I think the answer was always "Everybody needs math at some point". I am not saying that is totally true. But I am an inspiring professional something and it has already proved useful with work and other things outside of school. Wolfram|Alpha is a tool for math, not a solution, although it does give lots of those. I have used it to learn and am sure I will always use it as my life and my use of math in it evolves. It is the calculator of the future. The difference between a basic calculator and a scientific calculator, is similar to the difference in a scientific calculator and Wolfram|Alpha (Wolfram|Alpha being more advanced). OK, if you are reading this that means you are on a computer or phone, so get on WolframAlpha.com and get you mathematical nonsense over with.

P.S. The man on the front is Mr. Wolfram, call him your savior . . . I do.

Buy Eye & Save Leg?

I went to LensCrafters before college. My eyes are so bad. Blind would be all black, right? Well I am kinda all white with the occasional color here and there. Without Glasses I cannot operate anything or live my life effectively. Naturally when I let LensCrafters saw of my left arm and right leg in exchange for new glasses, I thought it was the logical thing to do before college. These glasses were sexy D&G, regular metal (not titanium). Pretty cool looking and I planned to use them for a year or so which is what I did. After a year these glasses, that has all the options and ran around $400, were dead. My father has an eye insurance plan, and because I am still in college I am on his family plan. It is around $100 for our eye exams, lenses, and frames; we even get to choose between 3 different pairs of frames! Now the first year of college may of taught me that $400 for glasses is stupid, but life has taught me that I need to be in comfy, cozy, cute glasses, or I'll either be miserable or blind. I starting looking around online, because as most of you know I am a computer GOD (Geek). I found this crazy ass dude that has been in several publications and become famous just because he also hate being raped by LensCrafters. This is his blogs link, go there if you wear glasses or know anyone that does: GlassyEyes. Hey he uses Blogger also, I guess he must also be a genius. Anyways, he enlightened me, now I know how my readers feel. I went with Zenni Optical, they had the smallest selection but it was still larger than any eyeglass store I have walked into, and the selection was suffice. They are the most upfront in my opinion, and for my first few glasses bought online I felt the safest with them. When you place your order you need a prescription, and the shipping takes a long time. These are not in stock, they are made in China and shipped to the USA (at least for me) in under two weeks. There quality (after months of hard use) is outstanding, comfort, never better. I am excited because paying $25 for for a pair of glasses with all the options, scratch resistant and UV protection to name a few, is unreal. They are only metal and plastic, style is important but online stores have style and I am sure if you only buy brand name, idk why the sticker should matter, but they will be cheaper online.
Retail stores have to pay rent, employees, cleaning, and have many other cost. Online buying just makes more since. Support local businesses? Support yourself in this economy and stop paying over $8 dollars glasses and frames with prescription.
A special thank you to Glassy Eyes for all the great help: thank you!

Arm & Hammazing Teeth

Ok well not to brag, but seriously to brag, I do have quite the following. I would like to say it is because of my profound blog and all of its the enlightenment it shares; however, I am not that naive. It is my pearly whites that force people to love me. No, not my ass silly, although those cheeks have turned heads. I am referring to my teeth. How do I get them whiter than a baby albino penguin? Baking soda. Idk what makes Sodium bicarbonate (I learned the big works from wiki . . . I hope they are real) so fucking awesome. The same thing that makes my toilet shine, grandmas cookies yummy, and my friends looking cool wearing sunglasses (because the brightness of my teeth is blinding) is baking soda. I am going to let u choose where to go from here. Wiki says you can get it from springs or something, thats right hippies, this shit is eco-gay. I use Arm & Hammer. It is cheap and taste like salt, but it is fun to save money and use products that work better, and I am one of those gay hippies. Your breath smells! Go brush your teeth with baking soda they will be white and I'll be so jealous I wont mind the mild salt smell, in matter a fact it might just remind me of the beach and make me fall in love with you.

Yaktastic

So here is my baby. I water here everyday and ride here through the best and worst of conditions. I get lots of shit from surfers, because I steal all there waves. Here is the deal: it is cheap at four hundred for everything, buoyant, maneuverable, and the highest quality of kayaks there is, at least for the price. I have ridden it in two feet over head hurricane swells and in half a foot, low tide, breaking only on this shallow sand bar, summer bump days. It has a double hauled bottom, one for paddle and one for catching waves. The colors it comes in are sooo sexy and I am always excited for the flat warm water or Florida with my Yak Board because I am the only one catching waves. It is also fun on reef because the bottoms deep v contour and thick mono fin are strong plastic. I drop dry reef for fun (but only on those half a foot small days. Once again a favorite gadget and although not tech specific it is royalty in its own realm.
Tomorrow I will explore my favorite tooth paste.

Half-Life

OK it is not a gadget it is a game for our gadgets. OK I am no "gamer" and don't know as much about this as I should. However, the conspiracy themes behind it kept me entertained and from what I understand the continuous story line and dialog was ground breaking at the time. Today I can easily play the game on my EEE PC it requires so little. Cheap and fun, not free and fun, but still pretty close. This game of the year, for I think three years in a row, has a special place in my heart. Follow the cult classic and grab you weapon of choice . . . crow-bar duh -and become the first person shooter character Gordan Freedmen today.

EEE PC 701

My favorite computer is the EEE PC 701. It started the Net-book revolution and reminded us all that the cheapest computers of today are the most advance computers of yesterday (few decades ago). Although it does accelerate in YouTube type web browsing, it also does more. The stock OS introduced me to Linux and the release of Ubuntu Hardy Heron that I put on it not there after confirmed the possibilities of the computer. Cloud based computing is the future and I used to EEE PC when it first came out the last semester of my senior year for everything. Needless to say Google Docs could be better and I did get a more powerful computer not long after I still have my EEE PC and find it to be fucking awesome. Students, seniors, anyone that needs a computer for mostly web browsing (which hopefully will be all of us as soon as more advance we apps come out like the Aviary suit). Before you ask what else does this NET book do other than NET go Google EEE PC hack and because it is the most hacked
computer of possibly all time you will find some crazy shit. Such as turning it into a touch screen or even a hackintosh. If you love computers and have a couple hundred dollars, invest in a old school EEE PC 701.

Clip It On!

Today I begin the week with one of my favorite gadgets of all time. It has never been popular or even pretended to be an iPod Killer however it has always been the alternative that is better, at least for me. Many non-Apple products have more features but because they are styled so poorly they they never feel complete and who wants to hide their more advanced cheaper gadget because it is ugly. The Sansa Clip is sexy. It is cheap. Online for $12 is a great deal. It has some of the best sound quality beating at least some of Apples mp3 players. I had a shuffle. I like this better. It has lasted longer it does more. I think it is small and cheap but for working out it is the best and it is not new technolagy these things are old but Mp3 players still do the same thing and when I am running or biking I do not want to watch movies or music videos I want something small, cheap, but made well, that I can use. The Sansa clip might be my favorite media player and it is one of my favorites if you have ten bucks invest in one.

Goodbye Apple

With tons of followers it is with good reason the Apple company will not be leaving us anytime soon. And even though I disagree with their control over applications on devices such as the iPhone and the cost of all their products, they are a great alternative windows. I will be enjoying this year posting my Blogs on Apple because they are so innovative with their products. I believe the Apple tablet will be out soon and that will probably be my first next post on Apple.

Tomorrow is Sansa Clip Day followed by a week of my favorite electronics.

iTunes

iTunes is the most wildly recognized piece of apple software. It has many features that have kept it above par but the true success, as with most of apple, is the simplistic style. Eventually song bird will be discussed and that will be interesting but let us begin to conclude the blog for this week with a simple idea, not faring away from todays theme, Apple is expensive. The main reason for using iTunes is because people want to spend money on media from them. They offer a lot and for this I understand but I still prefer my Hulu and Songbird.
There will be some new information on Apple out really soon, I will update when the time comes. Tomorrow the Apple Week will be concluded . . . thank god.
